In 2018, a record high of five physician legislators will be included among the ranks of the Georgia General Assembly.

Mind Matters recently spoke with Georgia's newest physician legislator, Dr. Kay Kirkpatrick. A former hand surgeon and co-President of Resurgens Orthopaedics for many years, Mind Matters wanted to find out how she got interested in public service and what she foresees in her legislative future.

Once a month, Dr. K takes Dobie, her twelve-year old Goldendoodle, to volunteer as a therapy dog at Ronald McDonald House.
