you may want to discuss with your physician, other professional, trusted
family member or friend. When

- Geographic
location of the doctor's office
- Doctor's
training and credentials
- Psychiatrist's
sub-specialty (for example: child and adolescent, addiction, geriatric,
or forensic psychiatry -- dealing with matters of law or the court system)
- Doctor's
area of special expertise (for example: problems with mood, anxiety,
stress, trauma, addiction, etc.)
The
Georgia Psychiatric Physicians Association can assist in referring you
to a psychiatrist. We suggest the following ways to locate a psychiatrist
in the State of Georgia:
- Consult
the American Medical Association's Doctor Finder service at http://www.ama-assn.org/
- Complete the online form below. GPPA staff will contact
you via e-mail and provide you with referrals that most closely meet
your needs and preferences.
- Find out if your psychiatrist is Board Certified
by accessing the
The
Georgia Composite State Board of Medical Examiners.
Once you have located your provider, you must view the "Physician
Profile" to find Board Certification information.
The information
you provide to us in the following form will be held strictly confidential.
We do not necessarily need your name in order to make a referral to you.
However, if you choose to have us call you, then we will need your name
so we know who to ask for. You will need to send us your e-mail address
so we may respond to your on-line request, and please also tell us the
city and/or zip code for the area most convenient to you.
